I have some dates set out for this proposal and possibly an abstract for it.
The dates would be from 9/1/2011 to 8/31/2014. This would allow for the oppertunity to deal with student specifically sophomores to seniors that would refelct the changes or influences in thier college choice that this program would bring upon them.
The purpose of this grant would be for student recruitment. Non-traditional and/or metropolitan students are less likely to have the oppertunity to understand and be exposed to careers in agriculture and natural resources. The project goal is to increase the recruitment strategies for inner city high school students. The objectives are to: Create interest and awarness of agriculture science in inner city hihgh school students, develop culturally appropriate recuritment strategies to educate and attract inner city high school students to agriculture science careers. Other goals include increasing college students abilities to teach others about agriculture, and to increase awarness of the career oppertunites avaiable to students through agriculture science to high school teachers, administrators and counselors.
A relationship shall be established between the university and several schools in a south Texas metroplex area.

Boot,
ReplyDeleteI hope you will post more information here on your blog about the project you're working on. It will be interesting to see you start to develop some of the details of this project and lay out a plan for its implementation. I wonder, though, is this just one grant proposal or are you working on a second project, too? What you've posted here seems pretty big. I imagine there's a way that components of it could be broken apart which would them allow you to write more than one grant proposal.
Looking to see a little more reflection here in your blog, Boot. You have good ideas, just present more thinking about them here. Doing so will help you practice framing your logic and approach in your formal writing.
